Maybe you know the type, or maybe you’ve dealt with them and didn’t realize it, but most businesses have at one time or another employed a Covert Leader. By my definition, this is a person who purports to want what is best for the business, but disregards the wishes of the boss to advance their own agenda. If they are good it may take the manager quite some time to discover what’s going on. But it usually comes out in some unfortunate situation with another employee or customer.
